Description
HIV Tests – MALAGASY (Fitiliana VIH)
HIV is a very serious disease with no cure.
This lesson teaches the importance of getting tested to prevent the spread of HIV and to enable people to access anti-retroviral therapy (ART) which can help people who have HIV live a normal life.
The lesson explains that HIV tests are very simple and require only a blood or a saliva sample.
The viewer will learn that it is possible to pass HIV to other people before the person even knows they have HIV, especially in the first months after infection.
They will learn that it can take 3 months after being exposed to the virus to be sure whether someone is infected.
The lesson advises the viewer to get tested at their local health clinic, as well as what to do if they find out they are HIV positive.
